The Proposed Project
Construction of a dedicated Child and Family Wellness (CFW) Building and gymnasium and upgrading a temporary structure into respite care units. The proposed location is an empty and cleared lot that provides the appropriate area requirements and land profile for the proposed new building and has existing road, electrical, water and sewer services, which are available to connect to on the adjacent road.
The proposed new CFW Building would be classified as National Building Code (NBC) 3.2.2.62, falling under group D for up to three-storeys. A separate gymnasium building will be located on the north side, connected by an indoor hallway. This gymnasium is versatile, designed to accommodate regular sports activities and can easily transform into a performance space with a stage, maximizing its utility for various community events. The project is located in Mosakahiken Cree Nation, Manitoba.
