Notice of intent to make a determination
Skownan First Nation Waste Site Closure and Eco-Depot Facility – Public Comments InvitedMay 20, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Skownan First Nation Waste Site Closure and Eco-Depot Facility, located in Skownan First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The waste disposal areas on the existing waste disposal site will be closed by consolidating waste into one area and covering with compacted soils from the site and fencing. An Eco-Depot recycling transfer station will be constructed with a operator trailer, bulky materials compounds, sea containers, roll-off bins, recycling bins, access road and truck turnaround construction.
