Notice of determination

June 11, 2026 – ADM Aéroports de Montréal has determined that the proposed project for the installation of a weather station at YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • The weather station is set up inside the airport area, on a vegetated site that will be maintained as is;
  • Mitigation measures applied during the installation of the station;
  • Community knowledge;
  • Knowledge and impacts on the rights of Indigenous peoples.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

Noise environment and air quality

  • No changes to air quality or soundscape are planned.

Soil quality

  • Most of the excavated soil will be reused on site.
  • The excavated soils will be characterized and managed in accordance with the applicable regulations.
  • The vegetated land will be preserved.

Surface water quality

  • No changes are made to the natural drainage of the site.

Therefore, ADM Aéroports de Montréal may exercise its powers to enable the project to be carried out.
