YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport – Installation of a Weather Station
June 11, 2026 – ADM Aéroports de Montréal has determined that the proposed project for the installation of a weather station at YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- The weather station is set up inside the airport area, on a vegetated site that will be maintained as is;
- Mitigation measures applied during the installation of the station;
- Community knowledge;
- Knowledge and impacts on the rights of Indigenous peoples.
Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:
Noise environment and air quality
- No changes to air quality or soundscape are planned.
Soil quality
- Most of the excavated soil will be reused on site.
- The excavated soils will be characterized and managed in accordance with the applicable regulations.
- The vegetated land will be preserved.
Surface water quality
- No changes are made to the natural drainage of the site.
Therefore, ADM Aéroports de Montréal may exercise its powers to enable the project to be carried out.
