Notice of intent to make a determination
Little Pine First Nation Keyanow Wellness Center – Public Comments Invited
June 11, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Little Pine First Nation Keyanow Wellness Center project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project
Keyanow Child & Family Services is proposing to build a Wellness Center on Little Pine First Nation. The proposed project will be located west of the school on Little Pine First Nation, and will include construction of a new healing lodge, including a crisis receiving home, supportive services, Elder's room, spiritual room, maintenance area, and second floor children's healing lodge home. Additional development of the site will include parking and building services. New water, sanitary, and fire protection services will be brought to the site. An on-site fire suppression water storage tank and emergency generator will also be installed to support life safety and operational continuity.
