Fortis Marmot Place Secondary Cable Upgrades

Fortis is planning maintenance work on Marmot Place in the Town of Banff. The project will upgrade the local power system to improve service for nearby homes. Work includes installing a new ground-level transformer, replacing old power cables, and adding two new power pedestals. Some outdated equipment will be removed or taken out of service. Crews will also reconnect the streetlight to the new system and make minor upgrades.


Latest update

June 11 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until July 11 2026 respecting that determination.
